Hey, my name is Richard Makin and I’m the guy behind School Night Vegan and All Veg Considered. I’m also the recipe developer, food stylist, photographer and author of best-selling cook book Anything You Can Cook, I Can Cook Vegan. I’m also the host of food podcast Lunchbox Time Machine.
I’ve been exploring the world of plant-based cuisine since November 2017 when I made the switch from being a life-long vegetarian to a full-time vegan. Back then, I worked in street food, running London’s first artisan ice cream sandwich van, so my weekends were usually way too busy for cooking. This meant that all my school nights became vegan nights!
The Independent listed my vegan cook book among the best in 2023 and School Night Vegan was voted “Blog of the Year” by Vegan Food and Living in 2020. In other words, if you’re looking for reliable vegan recipes, you’re in very capable hands!
I believe that everyone should feel free to enjoy vegan food, regardless of whether you’re skilled in the kitchen or not. It’s my dream that my blog School Night Vegan will help you to find your own passion for experimenting with plant based cooking!
